New OMA release with 1706 genomes

We have just released the latest update of the OMA Browser. It is the 17th release covering 1706 genomes.

For this release we redesigned the webpage entirely and added some new functionalities such as the new synteny viewer, the newly predicted homeologs for wheat and the improved help pages.

This release comprises now 1706 species, including 11 new plant genomes (Physcomitrella patens, Oryza brachyantha, Oryza glaberrima, Oryza sativa subsp. indica, Brachypodium distachyon, Aegilops tauschii, Triticum aestivum, Setaria italica,  Solanum tuberosum and Selaginella moellendorffii) and 10 new animals, i.e. the alpaca, the spotted gar, the blind cave fish, the sheep, the red fire ant, the pacific oyster, the filarial nematode worm, the monarch butterfly, Drosophila yakuba and Drosophila mojavensis. In this release we updated again many common model organisms. You can find a detailed list of all the covered species on our website (http://omabrowser.org/cgi-bin/gateway.pl?f=InfoMatrix).

As usual, the data of the previous releases is still available for download.
